A wild week of softball is finally complete for the Olympia Bears, who played five games in five days capped off by a 10-2 home defeat to Graham-Kapowsin Friday afternoon.
Olympia went 2-3 during the abnormal week, one that included a loss to Rogers in which the Bears were no-hit and a comeback victory over Yelm. But against the Eagles, it was the Brooklyn Pettit show, as the sophomore ace pitched a complete game with 12 strikeouts.
She was one out away from a shutout, but Olympia’s Katelyn Pearson crushed a two-run home run in the seventh inning. Two of the Bears’ three hits came in the seventh. The Eagles scored one run in each of the first three innings before reeling in four in the fourth and three in the seventh.
Olympia (6-11, 6-7 South Puget Sound League) will receive some much-needed rest before hitting the road to face Bonney Lake (9-4, 8-4 SPSL) Tuesday, April 28.
