A four-match winning streak has come to an end for the Olympia boys tennis team at the hands of the Puyallup Vikings in a 4-1 verdict in Pierce County Thursday afternoon.
Olympia’s lone victory came in first doubles, where Jerry Yen and Brian Yen knocked off David Wolff and Ian Kendall 7-5, 6-0.
Each singles match was tightly contested. Puyallup’s Cooper Johnson got the better of Olympia’s Nigel Kikuta 6-2, 6-3, in first singles, while Olympia’s Nick O’Sullivan lost in second singles to Puyallup’s Suji Shanker 6-4, 6-3.
Puyallup won second and third doubles by an identical score of 6-3, 6-3, with Brady Peters and Eli Christensen defeating Olympia’s James Smith and Evan Guan in second doubles and Ryan Youngquist and Elliott Sanchez beating Olympia’s Brandon Phan and Tristan Reck.
Olympia will look to get back on track Tuesday, Sept. 29 at home against Yelm.
