The Capital girls soccer team piled up 11 goals for the second time in its last three games with an 11-0 rout at Mount Tahoma Tuesday, Sept. 29.
Capital scored first in the 22nd minute and continued to attack offensively all night.
Sophomore Rowan-Rice Sullivan had a career night with four goals and one assist, while senior Pippin Crump and freshman Isla Swardz each had two goals and one assist. Ella Reeves, Alana English and Payton Vogt also found the back of the net, while Autumn Marsden and Sophia Ngo each contributed an assist.
“The girls came into the game focused on executing their tactics and staying locked in from start to finish,” Capital head coach Adriana Montes said. “Their determination and commitment were evident throughout the match as they continued to work toward an important team goal: breaking the three-year dry spell of not making it to districts.”
Montes also highlighted the leadership of captains Reeves, Crump and Mia Koong in working toward their postseason goals.
“They are working hard, staying focused and believing in what they can accomplish together,” Montes said.
Capital (5-3, 2-1 Puget Sound League) will return home to face North Thurston (2-3-2, 0-2-1 PSL) Thursday, Oct. 1.
