Luke Overbay went airborne in the dire seconds on Monday night and made the game-winning reverse layup with .1 seconds left in Tumwater’s 62-60 victory over 3A Kelso at home. It extends the winning streak to five heading into the EvCo opener.
Overbay, committed to Michigan for baseball, flew in from the side of the rim and made the shot off a Landon Anchors miss for the final basket of the night and the last of his eight points. Tumwater (6-1) was down by five at the half, took the lead in the third and held on. Overbay also grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds.
Ethan Bello led the scoring with 13 points and Anchors added 12. The Thunderbirds will host W.F. West on Tuesday.
