Evergreen concedes early goals in shutout loss to Rocky Mountain

Less than 13 minutes into Thursday’s match between The Evergreen State College women’s soccer team and Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana, the Battlin’ Bears had already taken a 3-0 advantage.

Rocky Mountain scored in the fifth, ninth and 12th minutes, with Molly Loughton responsible for two of those goals. The Battlin’ Bears scored again in the 23rd minute for a 4-0 halftime lead, but the Geoducks held them out of the goal for the remainder of the contest. 

Goalkeeper Melina Grijalva recorded one save in the first half, while Katie Gresham registered two in the second half.

Rocky Mountain outshot Evergreen 15-2, with Izzy Widener taking both shots for the Geoducks.

Evergreen (0-4-1, 0-3-0 Cascade Collegiate Conference) will face Carroll College in Helena, Montana, Saturday morning.
