It’s been a trying season for the Warriors, but with the regular season coming to a close, they were able to generate a rally in the bottom of the sixth to upend Ocosta 8-5 at home on Wednesday night.
For the first time since March 20, Rochester (2-16) left the field on top. It put together a five-run sixth that featured three straight RBI doubles from Charlie Culp, Addi Morgan and Rylie Wild. Morgan’s two-bagger put the Warriors in front for good and Kyanna Estrada capped the frame with a run-scoring single.
Kennadee Dempsey finished off a three-inning relief appearance of zero hits and two strikeouts with a scoreless seventh. The Warriors overcame five errors and Ocosta leading 3-0 and 5-2 for the win. Morgan, Wild and Dempsey all had at least two hits as the heart of the Warriors order.
Rochester will look to make it two wins in a row when it battles Castle Rock on Friday.
