By the time the Rochester High School softball team ended the first inning, they were already staring at a double digit deficit and it only grew in a 23-2, five-inning non-league setback to the Beavers on Wednesday in Woodland.
The output in the first for Woodland was doubled up in the second frame. Rochester (1-3) had seven errors on the night and avoided the shutout with runs in the second and third innings. Emily Hammack and Trinity Daniel recorded RBIs.
Daniel and Charlie Culp each roped a double and Layla Masiki registered a stolen base. The Warriors will take on another non-league opponent on Friday in Kalama.
