The National Association of Letter Carriers is seeking community help for this year’s Letter Carriers' “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive.

Each year, the National Association of Letter Carriers partners with the United States Postal Service for the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, the biggest single day food drive event in the world, according to a news release. Last year, it collected over 75,000 pounds of food for the Thurston County Food Bank.

Postal carriers and volunteers will be collecting food on the second Saturday in May, May 9.

Residents can volunteer to collect or box food for the 34th Annual Stamp Out Hunger National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive by contacting Michael Dennis at the Thurston County Food Bank, michaeld@tcfb.org or 360-352-8597, Subject line, "NALC Food Drive."

There will be snacks and drinks provided for volunteers.

Volunteers to help sort and gather donations are also needed, as well as drivers to help gather donations left at mailboxes and sorters to help prep those donations for transport back to the food bank.

For questions, email fooddrivebranch351@gmail.com with the subject line "Food Drive."
