Vehicle gets stuck in powerlines over U.S. 101 in Mason County

A vehicle in Mason County was suspended by powerlines on U.S. 101 on Thursday night, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The driver struck powerlines over the roadway and "continued driving up the powerlines," according to a WSP press memo. She was not injured.

Dion M. Blackburn, 45, of Quilcene, was reportedly driving her white 2008 Dodge Dakota northbound on U.S. Highway 101 when she struck downed powerlines at milepost 319 in Mason County.



Her vehicle became suspended in the powerlines over the roadway.

The roadway was fully blocked for approximately seven hours while first responders worked to get her down safely.

Blackburn was ultimately able to drive her car away from the scene.
