Two suspects were arrested on robbery charges in Lacey on Tuesday after they allegedly smashed a car window with a hammer, pointed a gun at the driver, took his wallet and fled in a vehicle.

The Lacey Police Department responded to the incident in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant on Quinault Drive Northeast at about 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

The victim reported that a man had approached him and asked for a cigarette, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed in Thurston County Superior Court on Wednesday.

The victim said he told the man no, and that he was just trying to sleep.

About 10 minutes later, while the victim was trying to sleep in his truck, he said  “suddenly someone was outside of his driver’s door, hitting his window with a hammer.”

The man with the hammer, who the victim said was the same person who had asked him for a cigarette 10 minutes prior, then allegedly pointed a gun at him and demanded his wallet.

The man and a woman who was standing nearby then allegedly got into a vehicle and fled at a high rate of speed.

The victim reported that he followed the suspects’ vehicle so he could get a license plate before returning to the parking lot to meet responding officers.

The Olympia Police Department located the vehicle getting onto U.S. Highway 101 and initiated a high-risk traffic stop with help from the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, according to the Lacey Police Department.

The two suspects were identified as Cameron Davis, 37, and Gabrielle Inlow, 35. They were both booked into the Thurston County Jail for first-degree robbery and first-degree assault charges.

After receiving a search warrant for the vehicle, police found the hammer and gun allegedly used in the robbery.

The gun was determined to be a realistic-looking BB gun, according to the Lacey Police Department. The victim’s wallet was not located inside the vehicle.

A Thurston County Superior Court judge found probable cause Wednesday, Jan. 21, in each suspect’s case for first-degree robbery while armed with a deadly weapon charges.

Davis’ bail was set at $100,000. Inlow’s bail was set at $35,000.

Arraignment hearings are scheduled for Jan. 27.

“Thank you to our patrol officers for their swift response and to our partner agencies for the help getting these two in custody!” the Lacey Police Department said in a social media post about the incident on Wednesday.
