A driver is facing possible vehicular assault and DUI charges after he crashed into a guardrail on a northbound Interstate 5 on-ramp in Lacey on Sunday, injuring himself and his 17-year-old passenger.

Angel Urrutia-Aguilar, 20, of Everett, was reportedly driving a maroon 2005 Ford Mustang westbound on Marvin Road in Lacey onto the northbound I-5 on-ramp when the vehicle left the roadway to the left shoulder and came to rest 60 feet off the road.

The crash was reported at approximately 4:26 a.m. on Sunday, March 29, according to a Washington State Patrol incident report.
Urrutia-Aguilar and his 17-year-old female passenger were both transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital for medical treatment.

Neither of the two vehicle occupants were wearing seat belts, according to the State Patrol.
