The Tumwater baseball team topped Seattle Academy 5-4 in a Stan Spencer Bracket at the Baseballism Classic on Friday at Heritage High School in Vancouver.

The two teams were tied at one after three, and the Cardinals briefly took the lead at 3-1 in the fourth, but the T-Birds responded with four runs in the bottom of the fourth, including an RBI single from Konrad Blake and an RBI double from Kade Acker.

Seattle Academy got within one in the top of the seventh, but Hunter Kirkeby was able to shut the door and preserve the win.

Luke Overbay pitched the first two and two-thirds, allowing just one hit while striking out four without allowing a run, and both Blake and Liam Gustafson added two hits apiece at the dish.

Tumwater (1-1) will take on Columbia River in the Stan Spencer Bracket Championship Game at Heritage High School on Saturday.
