Senior Izabelle Trefts from The Evergreen State College track and field team took first place in the women’s 3,000-meter race walk to lead the Geoducks at the Corban Indoor/Outdoor meet on Feb. 7 at Corban University’s Outdoor Athletic Complex in Salem, Oregon.

Trefts won the race walk with a time of 13 minutes and 22.64 seconds. It is the fastest time in NAIA history in a women’s only race. Trefts broke her own Evergreen record of 13:33.27, set at the Concordia University Polar Dog Invite on Jan. 23 in Seward, Nebraska.

The new fastest time for Trefts keeps her in the No. 1 spot on this year’s NAIA performance list, which she leads by one minute. She also qualified for not only the 2026 NAIA Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships last month but also qualified for the 2026 USA Indoor Nationals.

Sophomore Madison Palek also competed in the 3,000-meter race walk for Evergreen and shattered her personal record by almost 39 seconds, finishing at 16:17.93.

The Evergreen men’s and women’s track and field teams participated in a total of eight events on the track and in four field events. The men’s 3,000-meter run featured Evergreen’s largest group of athletes at the meet with seven competitors representing the Geoducks.
