For the first time this decade, the Timberline girls soccer team put up 12 goals on the scoreboard in a 12-0 rout of Mount Tahoma Tuesday night.

The scoring outburst started early and hardly took any breaks. Within a 10-minute span in the opening 17 minutes, the Blazers already led 6-0 with six different players finding the back of the net.

Fifteen minutes was the longest scoring “drought” for Timberline, with its seventh goal coming in the 32nd minute as the Blazers entered the locker room at halftime up 7-0.

In the first nine Timberline goals 43 minutes into the game, no Blazer had more than one goal. Hannah Bustillo Steik secured her second goal in the 50th minute, and Ayanna Turner earned a brace in the 52nd.

Hannah Jackson shined with one goal and four assists, while Zeta Towers added one goal and two assists. Layla Lacanlale, Abigail Green and Kealynn Hudgens each tallied one goal and one assist apiece.

Timberline (2-4, 1-0 Puget Sound League) will visit Capital (4-2, 1-0 Puget Sound League) Thursday night in a battle between two teams that combined to score 23 goals Tuesday night, as Capital beat Lincoln 11-0.
