A Thurston County man accused of murdering another driver during a road rage incident earlier this month pleaded not guilty to all charges on Friday.

Tucker S. Shirk, 24, of Lacey, is accused of fatally shooting Eddie Y. Park, 48, also of Lacey, in the 2400 block of Marvin Road Northeast, around 8:51 p.m. on Dec. 19.

The two drivers were reportedly engaging in road rage behaviors, including honking, flipping each other off and brake-checking, for nearly a mile before both vehicles stopped due to traffic. Park reportedly exited his vehicle and approached Shirk’s, and Shirk allegedly shot Park in the neck from inside his vehicle during the altercation.

Shirk was reportedly an active duty member of the military and had a concealed carry license at the time of the shooting.

Park was reportedly unarmed and was backing away from Shirk’s vehicle when Shirk allegedly shot him.

Shirk called 911 and turned himself in at the scene.

First responders attempted lifesaving measures, but Park was declared dead at the scene.

Shirk was charged Dec. 24 with one count each of second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and second-degree assault.

Trial is scheduled to begin Feb. 17. A review hearing is scheduled for Jan. 7.
