Thurston County mailed 2026 property tax notices to local taxpayers on Monday, Feb. 9.

In total, the county assessed $652,290,192 in property taxes between all jurisdictions this year.

Those who owe property taxes this year are required to pay at least half of what they owe by April 30. The remaining balance is due Oct. 31.

Options to pay property taxes include:

  • Online: Pay online at www.thurstoncountywa.gov/departments/treasurer. There is no additional charge for an electronic check payment, but there is a 1.0% transaction fee for a debit card payment and a 2.3% transaction fee for a credit card payment. Thurston County does not receive any of the fees charged.
  • Mail: Checks or money orders may be mailed to the Thurston County Treasurer at 3000 Pacific Ave SE, Olympia, WA 98501. Payments must be postmarked by April 30.
  • Drop Off: Payments may be dropped in the green drop box located near the flag poles outside the Thurston County Atrium building.
  • In Person: Payments may be made in person at the Treasurer’s Office during business hours. The same credit/debit card fees apply as with online payments.

As required by Washington state law, late fees will be charged for those who do not make their tax payment on time, Thurston County said in a news release.
