The Thurston County Auditor’s Office Elections Division is offering observer training for the Aug. 4 primary election.
The training will be held over Zoom at 4 p.m. on Monday, July 27.
Ballot processing is monitored on-site by trained observers appointed by the Republican and Democratic parties and independent observers. The auditor’s office is committed to ensuring ballot processing is open and transparent, a news release stated. Observers can ask questions of full-time elections staff as long as it doesn’t inhibit ballot processing.
