Due to forecasted high temperatures on Tuesday, June 23, Thurston County Public Health and Social Services has issued a “Hazardous Weather” advisory to increase shelter-in-place efforts.
The National Weather Service predicts a high of 92 degrees Fahrenheit in the Olympia area.
Olympia Mutual Aid Partners (OlyMAP) will be conducting outreach with emergency supplies to those without shelter. Sergio’s Place Service Center will extend its hours to be open from 2 to 7 p.m.
Shelter guest entrance for Sergio’s Place is located at 3501 Mary Elder Rd NE. Walk-up entrance off Martin Way. Pets are welcome. Please call 360-706-2287 for more information.
The shelter’s regular hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
Interfaith Works will accept donations at Sergio’s Place during regularly scheduled hours on . No parking is allowed on Martin Way.
Needed items include bottled water, sports drinks, sports drink mix, popsicles, non-perishable snacks, tarps, hats, summer clothing and sunscreen.
