Thurston County will hold its third annual Resource Hub Block Party on Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event brings dozens of community agencies into one venue, 929 Lakeridge Drive SW in Olympia, to offer free resources to the community.

Free resources to be offered this year include veterinary care and grooming, showers, haircuts, vaccines, childhood immunizations for kids ages 3 to 18, blood screenings, healthcare services, Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) mobile services, and more.

A free hot dog lunch will also be provided. Attendees will be able to volunteer for a blood drive on site, and raffle prizes will be offered.

Last year’s Resource Hub Block Party connected approximately 175 direct service providers to over 400 community members, not including animals, according to Thurston County.

Data from last year’s event show that 58 children were seen, 134 vaccines were administered

66 Community Health Assessments were completed; 10 gun lock boxes and one cable lock were distributed; roughly 100 community members engaged with the county’s Environmental Health Table; and roughly 150 community members engaged with the county’s Harm Reduction Table.
