Spurred by two goals apiece from Kyler Russell, Miguel Espinoza and Henry Czuleger, the Beavers cruised by the Warriors 8-0 on Saturday afternoon in their first Evergreen League and season match.
It also marked the first win for new head coach Lee Baker. He gave a shutout to his staff of Trevor Fetbrandt – the previous head coach – as well as Dave Montgomery and Gilbert Espino. He also was pleased with the effort in Tenino’s (1-0, 1-0 Evergreen) opener.
“We went into the game trying to tune up our formation and style of play,” Baker said. “Guys came out with a clear identity on how we want to play.”
The Beavers put up six first half goals in the span of 28 minutes. Russell started the goal-scoring in the fifth minute and Czuleger capped the explosive half in the 33rd minute. Espinoza and Czuleger also notched an assist.
Landon Vasquez and Romeo Soberanis-Delgado also scored for Tenino. It makes the road trip for a date with Montesano on Tuesday night.
