Despite a pair of matches going into three sets, the Beavers were unable to capitalize and dropped a 6-0 contest to the Bulldogs on Tuesday night at home.
Tenino’s No. 1 doubles tandem of Gracie Sweet and Izzy Schnase won the first set 6-2 and were in a nip-and-tuck second set, but fell to Monte’s duo of Margie Taylor and Olivia Reynvaan in the final two sets.
A similar story developed for the Beavers’ Eva Wegleben at No. 3 singles, winning the second set to force a third. She ended up losing to Hannah Craig 6-2, 1-6, 6-4. Chloe Suess (No. 1 singles) had the first set at 5-5 before losing the final two games in an eventual sweep.
Tenino will take on Fort Vancouver on Thursday.
