The Beavers had four attackers with at least five kills to push them past the Eagles 25-11, 25-10, 25-21 on Thursday night in a Class 1A Evergreen League contest.
It’s the first sweep by Tenino (4-5, 2-1 Evergreen) in over two weeks and just the second of the season. Katen Burkhardt and Kendall Bowe each led the front row with 10 kills plus Violet Zimmer added nine. Brooklyn Livermore chipped in five and had a block.
Head coach Shauna Carpenter made a switch in the lineup and moved freshman Kalli Knox to the back row and she posted three aces on 13-of-14 from the line. Five others missed no more than two serves.
“It worked well,” Carpenter said of the lineup adjustment. “Kendall and Violet stepped up offensively.”
Burkhardt had 10 digs to lead the Beavers while Sequoia Zimmer and Abby Smith each had 15 assists. Tenino returns home on Tuesday to take on Montesano in another league tussle.
