Lacey police have arrested a suspect in the Nov. 14 double murder of two teenage boys.
Trequanne Trenelle Wilson-Mason, 20, of Lacey, was arrested and booked into the Thurston County Jail at approximately 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, on probable cause for two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of drive-by shooting.
He is also being held on a no-bail felony warrant for violation of a court order related to a February 2025 felony domestic violence case in Lacey, according to the Lacey Police Department.
Wilson-Mason is suspected of killing Alexander Borgen, 16, of Lacey, and Deven Borgen, 17, of Rainier, in a drive-by shooting on Friday, Nov 14.
Lacey police responded to reports of shots fired and two subjects down on the roadway at 24th Ave. SE and College St. SE. in the City of Lacey, at approximately 1:50 a.m.
Officers responded and located two unresponsive males with apparent gunshot wounds. Officers rendered aid and summoned medics, who continued life saving efforts. However, both subjects died at the scene.
“Lacey investigators, along with regional, state and federal partners, have worked tirelessly to solve this senseless crime and bring those responsible to justice,” the Lacey Police Department said in a social media post announcing Mason-Wilson’s arrest Wednesday morning.
Investigation conducted since Nov. 14 has included the execution of several search warrants, evidence collection, hours of surveillance video analysis, and interviews that led to the identification of the suspect, according to Lacey police.
That suspect, Wilson-Mason, was surveilled from Lacey to a hotel in Wenatchee, where he was taken into custody by Lacey investigators with assistance from local law enforcement.
“We continue to aggressively investigate this case,” the Lacey Police Department wrote, thanking assisting law enforcement agencies, as well as the public for their assistance in providing surveillance video and tips.
Wilson-Mason had a preliminary hearing on potential charges scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, in Thurston County Superior Court.
The family of the Borgen brothers have started several fundraisers to support the boys’ mother and grandparents as they grieve, and to cover the costs of memorial services.
The proceeds of all fundraisers will be combined and split fairly between the boys’ mother and grandparents, fundraiser organizers have confirmed.
