SPSCC volleyball can’t rally to beat Centralia College in NWAC opener

The losing streak for the South Puget Sound Community College volleyball team is now up to five games as the Clippers fell on the road at Centralia College 3-1 (21-25, 25-20, 18-25, 18-25) Wednesday night in their NWAC opener.

After a 25-21 first-set defeat, the Clippers bounced back with a 25-20 set two win. But CC closed the match out with back-to-back 25-18 victories in sets three and four.

Victoria Valenti recorded a double-double with a team-high 13 kills and 16 digs, while Jessie McCoy did a little bit of everything with 29 assists, 13 digs, two aces, one block and one kill. Anastasia Morokhova added eight kills and 23 digs, and Mary Bobryk logged nine kills and two blocks.

SPSCC (6-9, 0-1 NWAC) will host Highline College Friday night.
