The Saint Martin’s University track and field program turned in standout performances over the weekend, competing at the UW Invitational, Mile City meet, and Inland Northwest Invitational.

Across the three events, the Saints recorded 20 personal bests, seven program top-10 marks and a new school record in the pole vault.

At the UW Invitational and Mile City meets, senior Ryan Doidge highlighted the men’s efforts by resetting his own school record in the pole vault. Doidge cleared 4.95 meters to place seventh in the men’s elite competition.

On the track, Kekaihulali Halpern continued her strong indoor season with two top-10 performances in program history. Halpern ran 2:16.24 in the women’s 800 meters, ranking third all-time at Saint Martin’s, then followed with a 5:06.64 showing in the indoor mile, which now sits fourth in the school record book.

Tyler Scott also etched his name into the program’s all-time lists, clocking a 1:57.79 in the men’s 800 meters to rank eighth in school history.

The Saints’ throwers shined at the Inland Northwest Invitational at The Podium in Spokane. Alberta Samuelu delivered a standout performance, shattering her personal best in the weight throw with a mark of 13.08 meters, good for eighth all-time at Saint Martin’s. She also posted a season-best throw of 11.58 meters in the shot put, placing 10th overall.

Taryn Wochnick led the Saints in the weight throw, recording a top mark of 13.50 meters.

Saint Martin’s will split squads next weekend, traveling to Spokane for the Whitworth Riverfront Invitational and to Newberg, Oregon, for the George Fox Indoor No. 1 meet.
