The Rochester football team earned its third straight win on Friday, breezing past Ellensburg for a 36-8 win on the east side.
“The boys played really hard,” Rochester coach AJ Easley said. “Always good to go on the road, deal with adversity against another 2A program and come out on top.”
Maddox Rodgers led the effort on the ground with 333 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 24 attempts, while Kaiser Tartios added 70 yards and a score of his own on 10 carries.
As a team, the Warriors ran for 450 yards on 47 carries, good for a mark of 9.6 yards per carry.
Defensively, Rochester conceded just the one touchdown.
“(Defensive Coordinator) Patrick Robbins and the defensive staff really went to work this week,” Easley said. “Our defense was awesome. The boys were flying around.”
Rochester (3-0) will return home looking for its fourth win in a row next Friday, Sept. 25, when it will host Rainier.
