It was a strong night from the service line for the River Ridge volleyball team, but the Hawks were swept by Silas at home Tuesday night.

River Ridge trailed 9-2 early in the first set and came back to within striking distance before Silas pulled away to win 25-21. The Rams took care of business in sets two and three, prevailing 25-14 and 25-15, respectively.

“We pulled some strong highlights. We had incredible defensive plays at the net and on the court,” River Ridge head coach Arianna Jacobson said. “Our serve reception is what took us out of having a closer score.”

Kristina Stupina handed out 18 assists with 10 digs, and she went a perfect 7 for 7 at the service line with three aces. Ny’zriae Collins-Howard went 6 for 7 while adding five kills, 11 digs and an ace. Sophia Quinn was 8 for 9 on serves, and Aspen Lamar went 6 for 7.

River Ridge (2-2, 1-1 Puget Sound League) will return home Thursday night to face Bellarmine.
