After a stumble in the first set, the River Ridge volleyball team cruised past Mount Tahoma 3-1 (21-25, 25-13, 25-12, 25-14) at home Thursday night.

With the victory, the Hawks have surpassed their win total from the 2025 campaign. A near-perfect night from the service line made that possible, as they only missed four serves all game.

Mount Tahoma took the first set 25-21, and River Ridge turned the momentum back in its favor quickly with a 25-13 throttling in set two. The Hawks disposed of the T-Birds 25-12 in the third set and closed it out with a 25-14 fourth-set triumph.

Senior Kristina Stupina went off Thursday night with 40 assists, six digs, three kills and two aces. She went 12 of 13 at the service line. Junior Ny’zriae Collins-Howard posted a double-double with 15 kills and 12 digs, and she added six blocks.

Senior Maya Caro was a perfect 21 of 21 at the service line with two aces, while junior Aspen Lamar went 19 of 20 and tallied eight kills, seven digs and two aces.

“Mount Tahoma was able to carry momentum to win the first set, then the following three sets we dominated,” River Ridge head coach Arianna Jacobson said. “[Collins-Howard], being a standout player, really stepped up on defense and offense and had an all-around game.”

River Ridge (2-1) will host Silas Tuesday, Sept. 15.
