On March 31, Olympia audiences will have the opportunity to experience the next generation of professional ballet dancers when Oregon Ballet Theatre’s Second Company (OBT2) performs at the Capital High School Performing Arts Center as part of their 2026 Spring Tour.
Presented by Studio West Dance Academy, the one-night performance will feature emerging professional artists from one of the Pacific Northwest’s leading ballet institutions.
“Ballet is a living art form that continues to inspire audiences and young artists alike,” said Dominic Walsh, OBT2’s director. “Bringing professional dance to Olympia allows the community to experience the power, athleticism, and artistry of ballet up close.”
Adding to the excitement, two former Studio West dancers Aidan Hodo and James Johnson will be performing with OBT2, marking a meaningful homecoming for the Olympia community.
The evening will also open with performances by Studio West Dance Theatre’s Performance Division advanced dancers, giving local students the opportunity to share the stage with professional dancers.
“Seeing professionals on stage helps students visualize what is possible,” Stephanie Wood-Ennett, Studio West Dance Academy and Theatre’s co-owner/director, said. “It connects the daily work happening in the studio with the artistry and dedication required for a professional career, to keep dancers reaching for their goals.”
The evening promises a dynamic program highlighting the athleticism, artistry, and emotional storytelling that define classical and contemporary ballet.
The performance begins at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $25 up until March 30, then $30 at the door. However, guests can use code CHALEMET at the door for $5 off the same day ticket price.
