Rainier shuts out Winlock in run-rule win

The Rainier baseball team picked up a run-rule victory on Thursday, dominating Winlock for a 16-0 victory,

Rainier scored three runs first and slowly added on throughout the next five innings before exploding for eight runs in the seventh.

Peyton Sheaffer went a perfect 4 for 4 with a triple and an RBI, while Tristan Sawyer added two hits and two RBIs. Yazama Gurnsey added a hit and drove in two runs, and Blake Fennel tallied two hits and also drove in a run.

Wyatt McIntyre (two innings), Fennel (two innings), and Kaymen Larman (three innings) combined for the shutout on the mound, combining for nine strikeouts.

Kyrin Meehan reached base in all four plate appearances for Winlock, hitting a single and drawing three walks, and Daelen Bradshaw notched two hits in four trips to the plate.

Winlock (5-9, 5-9 C2BL) will head to North Beach on Friday, while Rainier (6-7, 6-7 C2BL) will host Morton/White Pass the same afternoon.
