If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it. And that’s how the Mountaineers have operated for the last two weeks by sweeping every team they’ve faced, which included Thursday’s 25-13, 25-15, 25-13 victory over the Vikings.
It’s now seven straight wins and sweeps for Rainier (9-1) and their other two wins were also in three sets. Senior star Allyson Ooms, fresh off committing to CSU Bakersfield for beach volleyball, recorded 16 kills plus 15 digs.
Libero Jessica Adamski led the Mountaineers back row with 18 digs while Courtney Eckroth dished out 36 assists. Ellie Pringle slammed down nine kills and Reagan Bloom chipped in six. They open C2BL play on Tuesday versus Toledo.
For Mossyrock (5-4), it has dropped two straight after a three-game winning streak. Its next opponent will be Adna on Tuesday night, also the C2BL opener. Those two played last week, a Pirate three-set victory.
