North Thurston pitcher David Perez threw seven shutout innings in a 6-0 victory over Central Kitsap in Silverdale Friday. He allowed just three hits and five walks while striking out four.

Perez has not allowed a run in 10 innings on the bump this season. He also got the offensive energy rolling in the first inning with an RBI single, and Zach Albright followed him up with a run-scoring single of his own.

Perez stranded three runners in the bottom of the first, and the Rams extended their lead in the fourth as Jordan Dircks lined an RBI double to right field. Grady Wright added an RBI single, and the Rams scored on a double play. Kole French tacked on one final run in the seventh with an RBI single.

Next up for North Thurston (2-1, 1-1 Puget Sound League) is two games against Capital (0-3, 0-1 Puget Sound League), first in Olympia on Monday, March 23 and then in Lacey on Wednesday. Capital swept North Thurston last season, winning both matchups 6-5.
