A three-vehicle crash that injured one and blocked state Route 507 in Thurston County for nearly an hour on Thursday is under investigation.

The crash was reported at the intersection of state Route 507 and Manke Road in Thurston County at approximately 11:20 a.m. on Thursday, July 30.

A white 2012 Buick Enclave driven by Lonnie J. Maines, 59, of Yelm, reportedly attempted a U-turn at the intersection from southbound state Route 507 and struck a silver 2025 Chevy Silverado driven by Micahel M. Thomas, 40, of Rainier.

The Chevy was carrying an 8-year-old passenger, who was not injured in the crash. Thomas was injured and was transported to Madigan Army Medical Center for treatment.

Debris from the crash reportedly struck a black 2009 Ford Focus, driven by Natalia K. Andrade, 21, of Yelm, that was stopped at the Manke Road stop sign.

Andrade, Maines, and Maines’s 76-year-old passenger were not injured.

Maines was issued a citation at the scene, but Washington State Patron did not publicly release the reason for that citation.

The official cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Investigators have determined that drugs and alcohol were not involved, according to state patrol.
