The Olympia boys soccer team earned its ninth clean sheet of the 2026 season, shutting out South Kitsap 4-0 on senior night Tuesday night.
Four different Bears, including three seniors, scored a goal. Seniors Zach Bowman and Jake Murphy found the back of the net in the final 10 minutes of the first half, and senior Casey Smith netted a goal in the 60th minute.
Sophomore Pyke Celedonia put the nail in the coffin with a goal in the 66th minute. Olympia outshot South Kitsap 20-2 in the victory, with goalkeeper Declan Borden saving one of the Wolves’ two shots.
“Great end of the season on our senior night. It was a night to honor these guys who have put in hard work all season and a perfect way to head into districts,” Olympia head coach Ty Johnson said.
Olympia honored its 10 seniors on senior night: Declan Borden, Graham Koontz, Caleb Laxson, Stefan Lucenko, Noel Fernandez, Casey Smith, Joseph Raso, Jake Murphy, Nathan Christy and Zach Bowman.
Olympia (11-2-4, 7-2-2 South Puget Sound League) finishes the regular season in fifth place in the SPSL standings. The Bears earned the No. 7 seed in the District 3/4 4A Tournament and will face No. 2 seed and SPSL champion Sumner (11-3-1, 10-1-0 SPSL) in the first round at Sunset Chevrolet Stadium on Saturday, May 9. The winner will clinch a trip to the 4A state tournament. The Bears lost to the Spartans 4-0 on April 30.
