An exhausting week of road games didn’t faze the Northwest Christian volleyball team one bit.
The Wolverines, who started the week with road wins at Pe Ell and Muckleshoot Tribal School, stormed into Crosspoint Christian School in Bremerton Thursday, Oct. 1 and defeated the Wildcats in four sets 25-15, 25-22, 17-25, 25-21.
Ashlynn Hutchings was a steady presence all over the court with seven kills, a team-high 18 digs, three aces and one assist. Addy Hentges tallied seven kills, six digs and four aces, while Jess Collins posted 18 assists and six digs.
“This was a good test for us, with Crosspoint having a strong record and it being our third game this week on the road,” Northwest Christian co-head coach Sarah Barnard said. “When we weren’t as efficient putting the ball down on offense, we kept the ball alive. Ashlynn was really consistent for us, no matter where she was on the court.”
Northwest Christian (9-3, 4-0 Sea-Tac League) won’t get to return to its home court just yet, as the Wolverines will travel back to Auburn to face Redeemer Christian School Monday, Oct. 5. They will also host Tenino on Wednesday, Oct. 7.
