The North Thurston baseball team kept rolling Wednesday, winning its seventh consecutive game by way of an 11-1 rout of Lakes in five innings.
In the bottom of the first inning, the Rams tallied the first two runs in the middle of an at bat, as Ethan Shaefer and Zach Albright scored on wild pitches. North Thurston produced a two-out rally in the second, with Shaefer lining a two-run double and then scoring on a passed ball.
The Rams added a run in the fourth on an RBI from David Perez and blew the game open with five runs in the fifth to send both teams home early.
Perez pitched all five innings, allowing just one run on three hits and five walks while striking out six batters.
"David worked himself out of some jams, and we had a couple big innings offensively. David's outing was big because it allowed us to rest some arms for our games this weekend and early next week," North Thurston head coach Joe Meggs said.
North Thurston (11-5, 8-4 Puget Sound League) sits comfortably in second place in the PSL Nisqually Division behind Peninsula entering the penultimate weekend of the regular season. The Rams will take a trip to Cheney Stadium to face Silas (11-3, 10-2 PSL) Saturday afternoon.
