North Thurston drops road match to Central Kitsap

Freshman Londyn McKenzie scored another goal for the North Thurston girls soccer team, but the Rams fell to Central Kitsap 5-1 in Silverdale Thursday night.

Central Kitsap piled up a 3-0 lead at halftime and added two more goals in the second half before McKenzie’s unassisted goal on a steal and breakaway in the 50th minute put the Rams on the board.

North Thurston has lost back-to-back games this week by a 5-1 score, as Bellarmine beat the Rams on Tuesday.

“CK is a good team, and we knew they would give us a challenge. Unfortunately, we were unable to learn from the mistakes we made Tuesday and apply it here tonight,” North Thurston assistant coach Tristan Glaser said. “Many of the same mistakes happened again. I know we have the capability to compete in matches like these.”

North Thurston (2-3-1, 0-2 Puget Sound League) will look to bounce back at home against Silas on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
