A driver was issued a criminal citation after striking a motorcyclist on state Route 507 in Thurston County on Friday.
The motorcyclist, identified by the Washington State Patrol as Benjamin J. Donnon, 43, of Olympia, was transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital for medical treatment.
He was wearing a USDOT-compliant helmet at the time of the crash, according to the state patrol.
A gray 2020 Ram 1500 driven by Sean M. Jordan, 58, of Yelm, struck Donnon’s motorcycle at the intersection of state Route 507 and Manke Road Southeast at approximately 12:35 p.m. on Friday, July 10.
Jordan was reportedly driving southbound on state Route 507 and struck Donnon, who was traveling northbound on Manke Road Southeast, in the intersection.
Both vehicles came to rest in the northbound lanes of state Route 507.
The roadway was closed for one hour and five minutes.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Drugs or alcohol were not involved, according to the state patrol.
