A 25-year-old woman was airlifted to Tacoma General Hospital after crashing her motorcycle into a pickup truck and trailer on Tuesday in Oakville, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Denay M. Young Astry, of Oakesdale, riding a 2025 Kawasaki, made a right turn onto eastbound U.S. Highway 12 from Second Street at about 4 p.m.

A 2022 Dodge Ram driven by Darren A. Trusty, 50, of Oakville, was traveling west while hauling a Winnebago.

Astry lost control of the motorcycle and crossed the centerline, striking the pickup truck and trailer.

The motorcycle came to rest in the westbound lane while the truck and trailer came to rest on the westbound shoulder.

Astry, who was wearing a helmet, was airlifted to Tacoma General Hospital. Trusty was not injured. He was wearing a seat belt.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, though the state patrol stated drugs or alcohol were not a factor.
