A missing juvenile was located on top of a train trestle in Rainier over state Route 507 and guided down by police Monday morning.

The Rainier School District school resource office, employed with Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO), was notified of a missing juvenile who was believed to be in crisis, according to a social media post from Sheriff Derek Sanders.

TCSO deputies and Yelm police began checking the area and located the missing person, whose identity was not released, on top of the trestle. Police temporarily shut down state Route 507 during the incident.

“The school resource officer was able to connect and communicate with the juvenile before getting them down,” Sanders said.

“The juvenile has been reunited with family and is now safe.”
