Emotions ran high at arraignment hearings for the men accused of killing two teenagers in a drive-by shooting in Thurston County on Nov. 14.

Trequanne Trenelle Wilson-Mason, 20, pleaded not guilty to all charges on Tuesday, Nov. 25. His co-defendant, Jaden Hawk Johns, 20, was set to enter his own not-guilty pleas that same day, but his hearing was delayed after a fight between members of the victims’ family and the defendants’ family broke out in the courtroom.

Several people were asked to leave the premises.

Johns’ arraignment hearing proceeded without incident Wednesday. Johns pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Trial is currently set to begin Jan. 20, with review hearings scheduled for Dec. 17 and a trial confirmation hearings scheduled for Jan. 8.

The two men are accused of murdering brothers Alexander Borgen, 16, of Lacey, and Deven Borgen, 17, of Rainier, in a drive-by shooting on Friday, Nov. 14.

Wilson-Mason allegedly admitted to police that he mistook Alexander Borgen for a different man accused of shooting Wilson-Mason’s house and dog in October.

Johns is accused of driving the SUV from which Wilson-Mason allegedly shot the Borgen brothers.

Both suspects are being held in the Thurston County Jail without bail until their cases are resolved.
