A Lacey woman is facing possible hit-and-run and vehicular assault charges after she allegedly caused a crash that injured another driver on Interstate 5 near Tumwater on Sunday.
Sara M. Colvin, 26, was reportedly driving a dark green 2003 Chevy Trailblazer on the Trosper Road on-ramp to northbound I-5 when her vehicle spun and came to rest in the other lane.
A semi truck traveling in the other lane struck the Chevy and rolled, coming to rest on its side at the gore point.
The driver of the semi, identified by Washington State Patrol as Eric Wong, 38, of Happy Valley, Oregon, was transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital for medical treatment.
Colvin reportedly fled the scene.
The Washington State Patrol has determined that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, according to an incident report. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The crash was reported at 1:12 p.m. on May 31. The roadway was blocked for seven hours and 43 minutes.
