The Lacey City Council swore in four council members, two for their first terms, and renewed its selection of mayor and deputy mayor on Tuesday.
Andy Ryder, who ran unopposed and secured his fifth term in Position 5 in November, swore his oath of office during the Tuesday, Jan. 6 Lacey City Council meeting. During that same meeting, his fellow council members voted to renew his 2-year term as the city’s mayor.
Ryder was first selected as mayor of the City of Lacey in 2014.
Malcolm Miller, who is not up for reelection until next year, was voted in as deputy mayor. He was first selected for the position in 2022.
Maren Turner was sworn in for her first term in Positon 4 after she defeated Charles Beck on the November ballot.
Ryan Siu was sworn in for his first term in Position 6 after beating Evette Temple.
Also sworn in was Carloyn Cox, who was reelected to Positon 7 for a third term after defeating challenger Michael Ron Steadman in the November election.
