Four Thurston County residents were injured in a two-vehicle collision on state Route 8 Wednesday morning, according to a news release from the Washington State Patrol.
Troopers indicated the collision occurred at about 9:30 a.m. east of Elma.
According to the release, Shirley L. Catterall, 21, of Rainier, was driving a 2021 Hyundai Sonata southbound on Heise Road when she attempted a left-hand turn onto eastbound Route 8 and struck a 2016 Toyota Camry traveling westbound on Route 8.

She was reportedly cited for second-degree negligent driving.
The Camry’s driver, Lyn Dao, 31, of Olympia, and passenger Thi L. Tran, 44, of Tumwater, transported themselves to Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma, according to the release.
A second passenger, Loan Nguyen, 68, of Olympia, was reportedly “transported by aid” to Summit Pacific Medical Center.
