The Evergreen State College women’s soccer team opened its 2026 Cascade Collegiate Conference schedule with home matches against Oregon Tech Friday and Southern Oregon Saturday but came up short in both.

The Geoducks fell 2-1 to Oregon Tech and 2-0 to Southern Oregon.

Against Oregon Tech, no one scored for the first 64 minutes until Caitlyn Price of the Owls nailed a shot from 15 yards out, and she added to their lead six minutes later with another goal. Evergreen’s Madeline Dorendorf netted a goal in the final 13 seconds of the match on a 30-yard free kick into the top left of the net.

Oregon Tech outshot Evergreen 11-6, including 5-2 on shots on target. Nevaeh Moncada was responsible for three shots and one on goal. Geoducks goalkeeper Melina Grijalva recorded three saves in 90 minutes in net.

On Saturday against Southern Oregon, the Geoducks couldn’t find any offense while the Raiders took an early lead on a 12th-minute free kick by Payton Puppe-Wotipka from 40 yards out. Evergreen did not record a shot nor a corner kick against SOU, and the Raiders picked up an insurance goal in the 86th minute as Ava Johnson tapped in a corner kick.

Grijalva saved two shots in the first half, while Katie Gresham saved four in the final 45 minutes.

Evergreen (0-3-1, 0-2 CCC) will travel to Billings, Montana, for a Thursday contest at Rocky Mountain College.
