The Evergreen State College women’s basketball team fell behind early against The College of Idaho Saturday afternoon and couldn’t catch up in a 81-42 defeat.

Saraha Soufi got off to a hot start for the Geoducks, hitting two 3-pointers en route to an eight-point first quarter, but Evergreen trailed 25-11 after one. The Geoducks shot just 10 of 32 from the floor in the first half and surrendered 11 turnovers while the Yotes took a 44-24 halftime lead.

The Geoducks’ offense faltered in the second half, shooting just 7 of 28 and scoring 18 points. Soufi finished with 14 points, while Jesselle Victo Castillo added 10 points and six rebounds. Jenna Glenzel tallied five points, six rebounds and five steals.

Evergreen (0-19, 0-16 Cascade Collegiate Conference) will return home for a three-game stretch, opening up with Lewis-Clark State College Friday afternoon.
