A Kelso man is facing possible DUI, reckless driving and hit-and-run charges after he allegedly caused a crash on northbound Interstate 5 in Thurston County on Friday.
The crash was reported at approximately 6:07 a.m. on Sept. 11.
Joseph K. Hansen, 33, of Kelso, was reportedly driving a white 2017 Toyota Sienna on the right shoulder of northbound I-5 near milepost 114 when he struck the barrier, swerved into traffic and struck a blue 2016 Hyundai Elantra driven by Jasmine A. Cieplik, 42, of Lacey.
The Hyundai swerved onto the left shoulder, struck the guardrail and came to rest on the left shoulder.
Hansen allegedly did not stop, continuing to drive northbound on I-5.
Hansen was transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital for treatment of injuries she sustained in the crash.
The Washington State Patrol has determined that DUI was the cause of the crash.
