City of Lacey seeks applicants for Historic Commission

Posted

The City of Lacey is recruiting someone to fill a term on the Historical Commission that expires Sept. 13, 2027.

Applicants must reside within the Lacey City Limits or Urban Growth Area.

The Lacey Historical Commission provides leadership in raising awareness of Lacey’s history and preservation of local historic resources.

The commission guides the creation of public education and interpretive programs, encourages preservation of items and properties of historical significance, and reviews nominations to the Lacey Register of Historic Places.

To help reduce barriers to participation in government and increase representation, the city’s Advisory Board members are eligible for a $50 stipend per meeting, up to $500 per year. This aims to offset expenses such as childcare coverage during meetings, transportation to and from meetings, internet access to meetings, and other direct financial impacts, the city said in a news release.

To apply, submit an application online at https://tinyurl.com/yh7j5a52

The first review of applications will take place within 30 days of this notice.
