Despite some experimenting with doubles teams, the Capital boys tennis team battled with Central Kitsap in a 3-2 loss in Silverdale Tuesday afternoon.
Brooks Bezanson and Torin Biswas were partnered together in first doubles and won 7-5, 6-0.
“We are still trying to figure out our doubles teams to make the strongest possible team. I think they could be a strong doubles team,” Capital head coach Tom Alongi said.
Capital’s second doubles team of Logan Oestreich and Stephen Belgau won a three-setter, while the Cougars’ third doubles team lost. Both singles matches went Central Kitsap’s way.
“This year’s varsity team are all new varsity players who have a lot of talent. This will be a growing season,” Alongi said. “The guys love tennis and are hard workers.”
Capital will host Mount Tahoma Thursday afternoon.
