The Black Hills softball team was blanked for the second straight game on Monday, when the Wolves lost on the road to Shelton 4-0.
Black Hills’ best chance to score came in the top of the second, when a walk and back-to-back singles loaded the bases with one out, but an out at the plate on a wild pitch and a strikeout ended the threat.
Shelton responded by scoring its first run in the bottom half of the inning, and the Highclimbers added a run in the fourth, fifth, and sixth to tack on.
Makenna Oderman, Emma Arko, Lily Ship, Haley McMahon, and Taryn Kelly picked up Black Hills’ five hits, while Hannah O’Shurak allowed eight hits and four runs (three earned) while walking two and striking out five in a complete-game in the circle.
Black Hills (2-14, 2-11 2A EvCo) will host Tumwater on Wednesday.
